Online Plagiarism Detectors


Plagiarism Plagiarism is defined on Wikipedia as “the “wrongful appropriation” and “stealing and publication” of another author’s “language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions” and the representation of them as one’s own original work.”

In an earlier post on the site, I made available a chart that one could share with their students and fellow colleagues to establish the extent of plagiarism when putting together a project. Here are some web sites and online plagiarism tools. Some are free, some are paid-for services. Some allow only a certain amount of content to be checked and then ask for a fee.
