Here is a copy of a task I recently did with my Grade 9 IT group in Python. The task was to design an interactive calculator. Below is a screenshot of the output.It’s quite basic and doesn’t account for dividing by zero. But it’s a lot of fun for the students to work out. I showed them the output, went through the code and got them to write the program themselves from scratch!
For the students who were slightly more confident and figured it out quickly enough, I gave them the task of using two operator functions with three numbers! A great challenge for prospective Grade 10 IT students.
