I found myself having to create a list of cell phone models being used at a school. I was creating a task for my Grade 10 students in Excel (for graphs and charts). I found a great way of shuffling a list about in Excel so you have a random list on hand to copy and paste! I thought I’d share what I discovered with you.
I had 5 phone models to randomly distribute amongst 495 students. Here is what I did:
Step 1 : Create a list in Column A
Step 2 : Create random numbers in Column B using the Rand() function
Step 3 : Click on any cell in Column B and then, on the Data tab, click the ZA sort button
You have now shuffled your list!
