Real data for Excel activities

What do we want? REAL DATA!
When do we want it? NOW!

A really good way to help your students see the relevance of Computer Applications Technology is to provide them with real-world examples of the skills they are learning. With Microsoft Excel, it lends itself beautifully to contexts such as budgets and home/business expenses.

I put all the details of my municipality statements into an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my spending and usage of water/electricity. I thought I would share it with you so you can use it in your classes. It is my actual municipality statement numbers filled in (obviously no personal information has been included, it’s just all the numbers!).

It’s a great bit of data for charts, graphs, conditional formatting, functions and more…

Feel free to download below and use it for activities in your class.
