I read an article (via Twitter!) that I thought I could share with my fellow teachers. It is an introduction to Twitter and terminology, concepts and practices. I found it quite handy as I’d love to be able to demonstrate to my colleagues how they can use Twitter for their professional development and as a tool in class and for their classes.
“Getting started with Twitter is not as easy as you may think. Twitter can quickly feel overwhelming and hard to monitor. For a busy teacher, that means you have absolutely no spare time to spend monitoring your feed … let alone participating in a scheduled hashtag chat like #edchat!
There are a lot of barriers to entry for Twitter. It’s true. There’s a reason only 16% of US teachers use Twitter right now.”
